1. A. What is marriage certificate?
     Marriage certificate is a document that proves you are married. People usually get confused this with marriage license which is a piece of paper that authorizes you to get married. Thus, nine out of every ten required marriage paper is marriage certificate. 
   
   
2. B.  Where is marriage certificate required?
     This certificate is quite important that it is recommended to have at least two copies of it all the times. This is because you can use it for personal documentation and proof of marriage when changing name legally, having an insurance, applying for a loan, buying house and so on. As you might notice, you will need this certificate in situations related to
    benefits including but not limited to receiving spousal benefits. 
   
   
3. C. How to get it online?
     Since we are under social quarantine period, we cannot but to get it online. Contact the vital records office(https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm) in the state where you were married. 
   
   D. Will it be valid itself when outside of  US?
     It has to be translated, notarized and either Apostille certified or Embassy certified to be valid in foreign countries like Korea. However, this entire process, from issuance to tranlsation, notarization to get certification, is tough for one person to go through all by oneself.
