Ross Perot made $billions.
Do you remember him?
He was the top IBM computer sales man. He made his annual quota of sales in a month of January. He got bored rest of the year. Oops, Ron just called to play ping pong. Will finish
when I get back.
My wife, Ron and I played about 3 hours, sweating, laughing, joking...(I don't want to bore you). Ate dinner with wife. Back to here. A little tipsy with a glass of blackberry wine though.
On his vacation to Hawaii, Perot read an article of Readers' Digest, which jolted him out
of his boredom. He quit IBM, started his own software company, EDS(Electronic Data
Systems). Very successful. Went public with stocks. Another multi- $billionaire was born.
Known nationwide when he ran for US president, as independent(?). He got about 20% vote
, ending in Reagan victory.. Then Reagan pushed Soviet into arms race, ending in the collapse of Soviet Empire into diminished Russia now. Unfortunately, this resulted in the
real beginning of US deficits, except short last part of Clinton's 8 years. This long deficit is
still piling up. You all know bubble blow-ups of early 90's in computers, and '08 financial
crisis.Bernie Sanders, Vermont senator, independent, sees no end of this tunnel we all are in, unless US culture is changed. I agree. If you too agree with him, preparation is advised.
So, what is the one sentence Perot read, changed his career, and changed, and still changing US and World history? I wrote it in Yul-Dang; "Zen Nirvana's search for freedom",
2012/10/8;
" Masses of people lead lives of quiet desperation" - Henry Thoreau.
A better and complete form;
"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them".
- Henry Thoreau.
