"Scientists at the University of Utah looked at how sugar affected mice and found that the moderate equivalent of 3 sugary sodas a day - 12 oz, not double Big Gulps - had significant negative effects on life span and competion of mates.
"Sugar-fed females died twice as quickly as control mice. While sugar-fed males did not die more quickly, they had trouble competing against control males for mates, and less likely to hold territory and reproduce."
