If you have studied in a residence of UAE for more than consecutive six months, then you are planning to study abroad, one of the documents needed is Police Clearance Certificates in admissions process of the educational institute.

Police Clearance Certificates is a proof that you are not involved in any antisocial or illegal activities when you were a resident in UAE. 

It is becoming common to be required to provide police clearance certificate after you are admitted to any educational institute. 

In order to get a police clearance certificate, you need to prepare a few items. 

-A valid emirates ID card (if available) 

-A letter from the beneficiary stating that he/she does not have any pending criminal convictions

-A recent passport-size photograph

-A copy of the applicant’s passport 

-Fingerprint card from the country you are residing in (When you are no longer a resident of the UAE)

If you are using the document outside of UAE, since United Arab Emirates is not a member of Hague Convention, you have further steps to follow; Ministry of Foreign Affairs Certification and Embassy Certification. 

However, it can be issued only when you go back to UAE and apply for it in person or through the agent in UAE. You are unable to have this completed via any other means (post, for example).
