February has Valentine's Day, so even just looking at the calendar, hearts are coming out of my eyes. Marriage information company Duo USA held a Valentine's Day event in February right after finishing the Christmas event in December last year. It was prepared in a short period of time; it is said that it ended successfully. The Valentine's Day event is said to have prepared a five-minute conversation with all 32 people, with only tea time to eliminate unnecessary meal time and focus on each other. From 2:30 p.m. on a sunny Saturday, one by one came in dressed in semi-casual, greeted each other and blossomed into a serious speed meeting, throwing questions at each other and starting to blossom in conversation. Those who attended the Valentine event were 1.5 and 2nd generations. Most applied this event themselves, but there were also who came because their parents applied. Especially during the middle of the event, a special guest Mr. Paik, who has a child already married through a Duo service, drove from far away and said, "More important than building a career is marriage." His children were born and raised in the U.S. So, at first, they were strongly opposed to meeting through the Duo service, but through the persuasion of their parents, they met a good spouse through a Duo service and having a good marriage now. Mr. Paik said seeing his children with good marriage, he decided to share his story and thanked to Duo. During his speech, he said “For more than 20 years, the Duo USA helped Korean-Americans get married. There will be no regrets if you open the opportunity to meet Korean-Americans through the Duo USA”. He spoke in both English and Korean. Also, rumors about Valentine's Speed Meeting Events have spread to New York, we are getting calls from parents and themselves about why there are no such meetings in New York.

"We will continue to prepare for these events in the future, and I hope that Korean people can meet the same Korean and spread the American society with good genes," said Jennifer, General Manager of USA. "It is homework for parents to take good care of their children's chances to meet their spouses."

특히. 이벤트 중간시간에는 자식을 성혼을 시킨 부친께서 멀리서 운전 하시고 오셔서 스펙을 쌓는 것 보다 더중요한 것이 결혼이다. 본인의 자녀 또한 미국에서 태어난 2세라서 처음에는 듀오 서비스를 통해서 만남을 강건하게 반대를 했지만. 부모님의 설득으로, 듀오서비스를 통해서 좋은 배우자를 만나서. 행복하게 잘사는 모습을 보고 있자니 내 할일을 다 한 것 같고 듀오가 너무 고맙다고 생각 하고있다.  여러분들도 20년 넘게 미국에서 교포 자녀들의 만남 결혼을 도와주는 듀오를 통해서 만남 기회를 오픈을 해서 가져 보면 후회는 없을것이다. 내가 일부러 여러분께 꼬옥 이런 이야기를 하고 싶어서 1시간 운전을 하고 오셨다고 하시면서 고마운 덕담을 영어와 한국말로 말씀을 해주셨다. 

또한, 스피드 미팅이 뉴욕까지 소문이 나서 뉴욕은 왜 이런 미팅 없나요?부모님과 본인들의 전화도 받고 있다고 전하면서, 듀오 USA 제니퍼 지사장님은 앞으로 이런 이벤트를 계속 준비를 할것이고, 머리가 좋은 한국 사람들이 되도록이면 같은 한국사람을 만나서 좋은 유전자로 미국 사회를 크게 뻗어 나갔으면 좋겠다고 하시면서. 자녀들의 배우자 만남기회를 부모님이 옆에서 꼬옥 챙겨야 하는 숙제다고 말했다.
