Summary
This position will perform both risk management and administrative legal duties, including recommending ways to control or reduce risk, analyze areas of the potential risk to assets, earning capacity, review, and preparation of contracts, assisting with insurance compliance matters, and managing and organization of contracts. May also assist with legal research.
Responsibilities
♦ Contract management
- Prepare, proofread, or process legal documents.
- Receive and place telephone calls.
- Schedule and make appointments.
- Organize and maintain law libraries, documents, and case files.
- Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter.
- Assist attorneys in collecting information such as employment, medical, and other records.
- Draft routine contracts
- Calendar contract dates
♦ Risk management
- Assist developing and maintaining a business recovery plan and procedure; reviews revises and expands existing plans and protocols.
- Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and market disruptions.
- Analyze areas of potential risk to the assets, earning capacity, or success of organizations
- Assist in developing contingency plans
- Recommend ways to control or reduce risk.
- Document, and ensure communication of, key risks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
♦ Legal Research
- Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.
- Prepare and distribute invoices to finance or pay account expenses
♦ Other duties as assigned, but not limited to:
- Prepare documents, such as legal correspondence, and organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system.
- Investigate facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.
- Coordinate with law firms, to ensure timely response to subpoenas.
- Draft and type office memos.
- Organize, manage, and file contracts.
Qualification
- Bilingual Korean
- Critical thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Systems Analysis: Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 - 3 years of legal and contract management experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
