The Open Forum..., full of Fools?
What does it mean by the Forum?
Forum may refer to:
*Forum (Roman), open public space within a Roman city
*Forum (legal), designated space for public expression in U.S.
*Internet forum, discussion board on the Internet -Wikipedia
The word of Forum has the meaning of openness in itself. And therefore The Open Forum renders the connotation of the same thing as the term of Forum. In another word anyone who is interested in debating a subject or expressing his own opinion can do so in the public space like this site.
A administrator named this site as 열린마당, which could be translated into The Open Forum in English. Nothing is wrong with doing it. Because it was meant for any interested person to take part in the above mentioned activity freely.
What makes me bewildered is why he did repeats the same overtone of the openness. This is my interpretation of the weird practise. In fact not he the administrator, but I did it terming of 열린마당 in order for me to write this article in English.
Am I a fool? Of course I believe NOT. Say......I may have put the word of FORUM in use at this time, and then either I was afraid of losing the hint of OPENNESS or letting people driven into unfamiliar vocabulary.
So, the forum is the place where people express his or her understanding of the world affairs as they please. Some of them are agreeable with you, and the others are not. Why is there so much discrepancy in accepting their thought and the assertion in point?
I believe it may be the matters of either harmonious thing or that of 'out of tune', in another word incompatible in writing style, delivering skill, illogical expression and ideas itself with me at least as a reader. For some people it may not be the concern of this issues, but I do. And who then are the fools? It depends on who you are, naturally.
