Success and failure
1."Success is not final, failure is not fatal;it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill.
2. "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill.
3. "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings: the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." - Winston Churchill.
----
According to Churchill, capitalism and socialism both have vices of unequality and miseries, respectively.
China seems trying to harvest the blessings of capitalism, but
already, the vices of unequality is hitch-hiking on these blessings, along with the choking environmental pollutions.
U.S. economy has seen many repeats of various bubbles and poppings of these bubbles, along with extreme unequalities,
and the end is not in sight.*
They all try to make the systems work with new laws and modifications of old laws. These new rules are always behind
ever-faster moving changes of society with new technologies.
Partial tune-ups and revolutions even have never brought us a
lasting working system. I believe no system will work as long as the people and the leaders are not healthy in body and mind,
because a system is only on paper, and people are alive.
The point is that our commensal can work only when the individuals in it can function healthy in body and mind.
