리안쿠르트-락스(Liancourt Rocks)라는 말은 1849년 독도를 발견한 프랑스의 포경선 리안쿠르트호에서 유래된 말로서 군령 제1033호 제 3항에 다케시마로 표기하기 앞서 리안크루-락스을 넣었지만 지금에 와서는 ‘한국에 대한 독도 소유권을 희석시키려는 방법의 한가지로 일본이 이를 이용하고 있다’고 한국측은 말하고 있다.

SCAPIN 1033호 제3항

Article 3The Allied and Associated Powers agree that there shall be transferred in full sovereignty to the Republic of Korea all rights and titles to the Korean Mainland territory and all offshore Korean islands, including Quelpart(Saishu To), the Nan how group (San To, or Komun Do) which forms Port Hamilton(Tonaikai), Dagelet Island(Utsuryo To, or Matsu Shima), Liancourt Rocks(Takeshima), and all other islands and islets to which Japan had acquired title lying outside … and to the east of the meridian 124°15′E. longitude, north of the parallel 33°N. latitude, and west of a line from the seaward terminus of the boundary approximately three nautical miles from the mouth of the Tumen River to a point in 37°30′N. latitude, 132°40′E. longitude. This line is indicated on the map attached to the present Agreement.

제3항, 연합국은 일본이 과거에 영유권을 획득했던 한국본토와 모든 주변의 섬들(제주도-Quelpart, 거문도-Hamilton, 울릉도-Dagelet island, 독도-Liancourt Rocks,Takeshima)과 그 밖의 섬들에 대한 일체 권리및 권원을 일본에서 제외하여 대한민국(the Republic of Korea)의 주권에 완전히 이양할 것을 합의한다. (열당에는 그림을 올릴 수 없어나 관심있는 분은 국제망에서 볼 수 있습니다.)

한국의 입장에서는 이 '락스'라는 단어가 가슴에 돌이 되어 아직 까지 풀리지 않고 있다.
