How To Validate Graduate Certificate ASAP!

2020.08.26

Hi, this is KICPC

Korea is famous for education fever. To make their children to speak English as fluently as native, many Korean parents are sending their children to English-speaking nations like US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and so on. And actually I was the one of the kids sent, in my case, to New Zealand. I spent some of my childhood and graduated an intermediate there.

Just like me, there are many Koreans who graduated schools, from elementary to high school and college. Some of them keep make a living there and the others come back to Korea. When you turning back, you may at least be required to prove your educational background. When you are getting a job and entering a school in Korea are good examples.

However, you cannot just issue the graduate certificate and submit it because the document from a foreign country cannot be valid without taking some procedures. There are some validation processes as follows.

5741848

Firstly, you issue the graduate certificate. You can easily issue the document through online and regarding to this step I am sure that you will know how to better than me    Secondly, since you are to hand in to a different country you should translate the document into the language. When it comes to translation, some of you might think you can handle it by yourself but don’t do that. To not be denied in notary, leave it to a professional translator. Thirdly, notarize! Notarize the translation to prove that the translation is reliable.

Last is legalization. Legalization means authentication, a procedure to prove the authenticity of a document, a graduation certificate in this posting. There is a Convention abolishing the requirement of legalization for documents called Hague Convention, so that among members of this Convention just an apostille stamp, authentication proof, from the authority of issuing country, is enough for legalization. However, if not, you should get a reconfirmation on the certification of issuing country from the authority of receiving country.

However, make sure you complete these process before you leave to Korea. If you forget to do this and already in Korea, things may be too complicated that make you exhausted. Especially, when it comes to apostille, apostille is only available in the issuing country. So if you are in Korea, recipient country, you should go back and go get it or find a delegate. Given the spread of covid-19, the former option is needless to consider. But finding a delegate is also tough in that you should actually find someone and prepare a power of attorney from writing, translating, notarizing to legalizing it either
