Bion's discovery of zero ("no-thing"). 비온의 제로(사물-없음)의 발견. 

Bion was deeply interested in mathematics and sought to employ  mathematical concepts and paradigms to psychoanalysis, not only  to avail himself of the precision that mathematics offers, but also because mathematical integers lack memory and desire—that is, they  are unsaturated and are therefore more versatile as symbols that can  represent elements of meaning. Bion was especially alert to the fact  that mental or psychoanalytic objects were more difficult to conceptualize than were material objects of the scientific world. He stated that  we know things through K because of the capacity of our sense organs to achieve a common sense about the objects they perceive—but  this is only within the sensual waveband. There are experiences with  psychoanalytic objects that are in the ultrasensual band of experience,  and language as we know it seems unsuitable as a representational  medium for those ultrasensual experiences. Even mathematics, in its  own development, suffered from "sensual" limitations until it developed the concept of zero—and the reciprocal of zero known as infinity—the latter two conceptions enabling mathematicians to transcend  the world dominated by the senses and to travel into domains and  perspectives that were contemplatable by intuition alone. Bion entered  the galactic vastness of the deep and formless infinite, the domain of  the cosmic nothingness of outer space, of no-thingness, to obtain two  of his most important figurative concepts, already well-known entities  in astronomy. Bion, in using theoretical and applied mathematics, was  exploring the dialectic between loneliness and aloneness, between nothingness as unsaturation and nothingness as the saturation of meaninglessness.
